What causes 3102

I understand the concept that my character was not fully logged out, but in other MMO if you attempt to log in, it boots the active character.

I just wonder because i camped in my inn room yesterday and today (8 hrs later) im getting 3102. I submited a ticket, just find this whole process odd.

There does seem to still be some hiccups especially on higher volume Worlds. Ideally when you hit logout or shutdown a request is sent to the server to terminate your session. For any number of reasons that request never makes it to its destination and so your session is left live on the server side. Typically there is a set timeout period for a session that suddenly no longer has a clientside connection but for some reason that timeout isn't being triggered. Maybe connection status is saved in more than once place...I'm not sure. This game does act like FFXI. It refuses to let you log on if you're techinically still logged in. I think it's an anti-hacking measure to someone doesn't snag your account and kick you from the game.

Well on Fri night I logged out in an inn properly and went to work. Came back sat afternoon and tried to log in. Got the 3102. I was like wtf, since it had been a long time in between. So all day yesterday I spent trying to get in. Same 3102 over and over. Put in a ticket knowing that there would be no response all weekend. Was getting pretty upset. Then I noticed something late last night on the server select screen. I had a character on a server that I had not made myself. The name of the char was Dfghe fhgd. Pretty much knew what was up then. I got hacked =\ that was why I was getting 3102..some basement dweller was on my account botting/spamming shout chat all day. Changed my PW and got the token app installed (its free for android BTW) if you don't have it yet...get it. About a half hour after doing this I was able to log in. Checked my mains gil and voila...all gone. Douchebag was nice enough to leave me my gear though.
So yeah, if your getting 3102 all day there is a good chance your account has been violated. Make sure you get the app.

You can't..that's one of the problems.

And if the account was hacked..like mine was, your fix is irrelevant.

Well..might get you back in but you'll still have to deal with the account being vulnerable anyways.
