Playing 2 Characters On One Account?

Hi there fellow Eorzeans! Maybe you can help me.

According to this thing (at least in my understanding), you can play 2 characters from the same account at the same time as long as you do x, y, and z. Buying another PC copy of the game isn't a big deal to me, but how do you actually set it up so that two characters on the same account can be played? Is it MAYBE as easy as just registering an additional account code on Mog Station?

Here's what I'm trying to do -- my dad and I share an account. We each have one character, both characters on Diabolos server. We want to be able to play together rather than, I have to logout for him to play, etc.

Has anyone been able to do this? If so, how'd you do it? Do you have to contact SE to set this up? I've been looking for a phone number or something and I cannot find it, and the email I sent to them was hit with the usual "well it's been awhile we're sure you figured it out by now bye" thing.

Any and all info would be appreciated thank you! Also, bonus points if someone who's actually done this can verify stuff. Oh, and do you pay 1 monthly fee or one for each character?

I have a feeling that even if I get this to work, one of us would have to create a new character on the extra account to be able to play together, huh? :/ And I couldn't move his character onto that new account, could we...

Not sure but I think you have to add it as an additional service rather than a platform.

Right, so the"Add New Service Account" button on mog station where you just input the code, right? That's what I figured. I'd just like to make sure /confirm it worked for someone else before I go buying an extra copy!

Definitely add another service account (at the very least)... However I would advice to go as far as create another Square Enix Account. Since you are to pay for another subscription anyhow. Having a separate Square Enix Account allow the second person to add in PS3 platform without worrying the SEN account tied to only one SQEX - forward thinking.

And yes, unfortunately, you will not be able to move existing character to new service account or SQEX.
