Something is wrong here. Either tanks need a snap-back threat move (Provoke is utterly useless) or enmity in attacks should be looked at
Provoke puts you on the same hate value as the highest other Person. Means basically unlimited hate Generation.
Works at least in Dungeons that way. But with that move you just reached the same hate value as the other Person you now Need to get a bit more to get hate cause Mobs stay on the Person that reached that hate value first if multiple Person have the same.
So I don't really get why you did use Tomahawk first, it was wasted.
Basically I like that People Need to look out for aggro. I don't want it to be a easy one button I got hate and don't Need to do anything anymore. It requires DDs toa ctually use Party Play and not just mindlessly hit a damage causing button...
If DDs Play that way and just put out more damage if they got agro and they don't notice that they Need to stop or run stupidly around and dont let me get near the mob I just let them die... Stupidity Needs to be payed for.

Also I don't feel in generel that I have Problems Holding hate against healers... in some rare occasions where I get a damage spike incoming right at the start of a fight... thats the only case which is rare.

The Problems with DDs I mosten only had at the beginning in low lvl, and when they didn't care to attack the same target.

One Thing I seem to do differently then you at the Moment is that I use more AOE hate skills at the beginning. But not always it depends on the amount the healer Needs to cure me for. Sometimes I only use overpower once sometimes more. It's always a learning Phase depending on what mob Groups we fight.
It's also possible to spread your HS/SS BB over multiple Mobs. meaning HS/SS on mob 1 BB on mob two. For a Combo you don't Need to stay on the same mob. on Some occasions I use that too.

Also cause of the mechanic how provoke works ist uless to use it as Long as you have hate on the mob.

Healers can also influence hate. IF rare high damage Spikes occure but never two in short interval meaning it's not needed to get the tank immidiatly up to 100% they can use lower healing abilities. If they use 2 or 3 cure I instead of a Cure II the tank has time to generate hate during that time. Which can cause you to hold hate just fine, but a big Cure could case you to lose hate on Mobs that are not your Primary target at the start of a fight.
Same applies for using AOE healing abilities. Some healers have a tendecies to just trow out AOE heals, which of course generate lot of hate in a short time.
This also doesn't make sense. Why use a AOE heal in case of a rare used AOE damage ability if everything still is on the tank and basically Auto heal of the DDs HP will cure everything before another AOE attack Comes in.

Hate Management in this game Need thinking and Teamwork. And personally I like that.

EDIT: Interesting didn't know about provoke beeing useless in FATES. Makes perfect sence then in that Situation... I think thats ok that way. A DD that attackes a fate without a tank... let him just die...
