Best way to stop RMT spam is to:
1- post a GM in every city area
2- as soon as the first advert for gold spam pops up, they can immediately kick/ban them.

In case it isn't possible to place GM in every city area, they should at least have a chat monitor application that displays the 'Area' chats (Say, Shout, Yell) and have a team monitor that. Then once RMT spam starts, they can do the kick/ban thing. Needless to say, the kick/ban issued in this manner is permanent, but can be appealed in the case of compromised accounts.

Next thing to do is have an option on the 'name' r-clik menu to report RMT. Reports in this fashion are flagged for 'immediate attention' at whatever desk that covers this mess. They can then review the chat logs and apply the kick/ban as, and if, needed. Hell, they could even automate this part. X number of reports in, say, 5 minutes, and and automated kick/ban is issued. Automated kick/bans cover a 72 hour period giving the Devs/GMs ample time to review and make permanent or withdraw the kick/ban.

Controlling RMT is not that hard to do, and the way we have to go about reporting it is a joke.

Once an RMT spammer is reported, they should be GONE in under 15 minutes.

for spammers that are scrolling by real fast you can click on their name as it goes by and you get a drop down menu. form there select send tell. You don't actually have to send them a tell but it gives you their name right there to copy and paste into the blist. just make sure to remove the last space from the name on the blist add box.
