
yeah same for me i either pull from tank or im right on the edge constantly the way i see it thm/blk mage is the best dps as of right now if you are going off of threat

As someone who uses the ffxiv app damage parser extensively, I feel that I must inform you, that the Dot simulation for Bio II is broken as of a few days ago.
If you break down damage by skill you can see that bio II will average out at something ridiculous like 1200 damage per cast. Summoner damage isn't as bad as people think with a proper rotation, but it also isn't as good as it appears here.

I don't have to back up my claims. Just read the other topics about smn dps and you'll see what I am talking about.

The baseless claims that it is high or the baseless claims that its low? Which are we using to see what youre talking about? I need to know which side to mindlessly ignore. It gets confusing at times for fact based people.

I think that all DPS is balanced for the way each class is meant to be played currently.

Stop using the DPS meters to judge party damage! It is bugged as hell and everyone knows it already.
Until DoT damage is accounted for correctly in the combat logs or the damage meters we cannot really tell if Summoners are doing 'Good' or 'Bad' DPS.
All I know, based on my experience as a Summoner is that Summoners are pretty weak early on without good gear, they were doing the lowest DPS.
However, as you gear up and replace your AF gear and weapons the Summoner seems to become A LOT better, doing comparable DPS with other classes. Recently we even top DPS meters, sadly this is due to the Damage Meter bug where our damage is showing incorrect over damage numbers. We are however doing 'Good' damage as we gear up.
My assumption would be that Summoners DoT scale better with upgraded gear than normal DPS does so in the long run we benefit more from gear than other DPS classes.
You guys act like you can’t do simple math, so I went to a target dummy without a parser.
Bio 2, Miasma, and Thunder hit for 70 a tick and critical for 100.
Bio 1 hits for 80 a tick and critical for 120.
Shadowflare hits for 60 a tick critical for 90.
Assume a 1 minute fight with 19 ticks (one every 3 seconds and missing one for the initial cast). My critical is around 5% so 1 tick out of every 20 will critical.
Pet hits for 160 every 3 seconds and critical for 210.
Fester hits for 575 and critical for 875.
Ruin hits for 160 and critical for 210.
Bio 2 Damage = 70 * 18 + 100 * 1 = 1360.
Miasma Damage = 70 * 18 + 100 * 1 + (40 * 2 for the initial cast) = 1440.
Thunder Damage = 70 * 18 + 100 * 1 + (70 * 4 for the initial cast) = 1640.
Bio 1 Damage = 80 * 18 + 120 * 1 = 1560.
Shadowflare Damage = 60 * 16 + 80 * 1(misses 3 ticks because it’s cast late) = 1040.
Fester Damage = 575 * 3 (assume no critical) = 1725.
Pet Damage = 160 * 19 + 210 * 1 = 3250.
