[ERROR] Version Update Failed

Ok ever since the servers went down today I have gotten a HUGE error every time I try to update the game to play. I cant even get past this screen to play the game . Here is a screenshot to show you whats going on:

I get that sometimes after I've patched the game. I find that pressing 'accept', closing the game and restarting it solves the problem. But you have perhaps tried that...?

yeah I had tried that. What I did to fix the problem was restart my computer. No clue how that had any effect but ti worked.
