This patcher never works for me....

Ever since i bought this game in the first pre-beta. All of the patches on this patcher barely move at all. Most of the time i download at like .400 bytes... a sec. While my uploads does alot.

Through out all these patches on this stupid patcher..i have found that if i keep closing the patcher over in over for hour or so i will get the patch like 1% at a time. If i just leave it going it always reads bytes or 0.0, to come back 6 hours later with nothing downloaded at all. All firewalls are open. Only game this has ever happened too. Rift and Starcraft 2 patch fast and easy. What gives????

Same thing happens to me all the time. When I first started patching, the patcher said it would install in 15 minutes. I have been patching for over 2 hours and my bar has been stuck at 25%. However I do seem to be uploading to others constantly.

Patcher sucks, bypass it with uTorrent download in 4 min. Patcher takes over 2hours.

= quick tip
1) Let SEs patcher start downloading close it.
2) It should create torrent file under its folders :
My way for torrent is :
\Dokuments\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\metainfo
(it should be named by date of torrent file - patch)
3) now run your torrent client and open that torrent file from the dir (metainfo).
It will download with full speed now. No more waiting for laggy SE patcher.
4) paste the downloaded file under FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\patch - replace old one
5) Run client

Remember that you need torrent file created by SE patcher!! You dont need to download any external links of patch files, etc. But the rest should be same I think. Enjoy. You can do it from my step 1-5 without looking at old tuts.

I had to close my patcher because it wasn't downloading at all. Now it's downloading at the 'regular' speed the SE patchers give: about 90kbps.

I gotta agree with some posters here... After 10 years of experience with patching their MMO (FFXI I mean), Se still hangs to this shitty way of delivering patches. I remember when I first started playing FFXI and had to wait 7+ hours before I could start

Had the same problems patching yesterday, it seems to me that the problem lies in connecting to "remote connections". Because i had 0 "remote connections" yesterday, then i decided to reboot everything(router, computer etc.) I started back up again and i connected to the 50 remote connections and capped my internet speed. But as i haven't opened any ports i believe theese issues comes both from the patcher and from my router aswell. So im not sure, but it worked for me atleast!
