Dead at end of Instance - No Credit for kill

So my PUG group downed Garuda, and I died right at the end of the fight. As this was the first time I had fought her, I sat through and enjoyed the long cut scene at the end. When it ended, the rest of the group had gone, and I was left lying dead on the ground.

My question is this - if you die at the end like this, is their any way to get credit for having killed the boss (other than fast forwarding through the cut scene to make sure the healer gives a res at the end before leaving)?

After the 5 minutes, it ports you out. You then get the cs.

Happened to me. You can just leave the duty and you'll get the cutscene.

happened to me once. but I skipped cutscene and got raised. you can't be raised if you're viewing cutscene. however, I earned the exp and gil at the moment the boss dies even though I'm dead.
