I don't understand the lazy design accusation. They created dailies and dungeons too. It's more of a tweaking the EXP gains issue. Not laziness. Lots of fates are imaginative and fun the first few go rounds.

I've been doing more leves than fates. I'd rather not help the masses get their gold rating for not doing crap. It would be nice if more ppl did dungeons. It's a shame SE put so many in and they only get done like once.
I love FATES I think there great. Never in my post did I say SE should remove them. All I'm saying is, I like dungeons aswell and I would like to be able to do both instead of doing FATES all the time. But because FATES are THAT much better for exp and gear. It makes dungeons a little pointless. I'd like them to give similar exp so that I feel like I'm not making the wrong decision by playing them.
Dungeons require more intelligent gameplay and a hint of teamwork. So you would expect them to give more exp
Yeah FATE running is not like 'old school XI'. Even in its 'derp' category at least XI had a more casual approach to the basic level grind, I could actually sit and chat, while FATEs are constantly watching maps and running around like a mindless chicken. Yeah there are some down times but not nearly the same to compare it too. While I say this, I'm not saying to bring back a horribly slow grind to the game, just give us options.
Dungeon buffs in a few different ways could work, but it we're still pooled into 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps; unlikes XI where we had 1 tank, 1 healer, 4 dps/optional (or was it 5 total, been awhile... either way had more slots for dps to fill).
Another idea that came to mind was actually do bring back XI type fighting in certain areas, but with exp on par to FATEs or buffed dungeons. That way people can form whatever party they want, be it a ton of healers, tanks, or dps, depending on the set up or area, and get somewhere in exp without having to be on mount 80% of the time.
