    Fates are a lazy design

    Lazy and enforce grind and repetitiveness. I love the game but this one thing just ruins leveling other jobs. There are no quests and you are pretty much stuck doing fates as an alternative. Increase the gain from Dungeons and introduce more quests when leveling other jobs please. The fate grinding just makes this game feel like another korean grindfest.

    This is also another reason why it is so hard to find dungeons groups. Fates give so much more XP that anyone barely even tries doing anything else besides zerging/grinding them 24/7.

    White Knight and ignorant responses are excluded in this topic... If you cant give an argument besides a 13 year old saying "he did it too" then don't bother posting. And no... not every modern game has it... other games implement equal balance when leveling and not this crap of zerging grinding to get to highest level.

    I personally juggle FATES between leve quests to mix things up. But I will agree with one thing, dungeon exp is vary lacking compared to a leve party. I was in a leve party at quarry mill at 25. It was a 8 man party and we was destroying every mob in the FATE and was chaining them easily. Because I was in a party I was getting 300 exp on every mob . We killed about 30 mobs and was rewarded with 19k afterwards. That one FATE gave me more exp than toto rak does but the FATE was 3 minutes and not half an hour.

    Dungeons need exp boost to make them worth while. Even gear farming there is pointless. You may aswell spam FATES get a bunch of company seals and buy the company gear.

    That is exactly what i was talking about. Either increase dungeon XP or decrease Fate XP to that of dungeons so that one is not so much better than the other.

    I was actually thinking about this the other night, and honestly - it's not really fun healing or tanking the fates when everybody zergs them. With so many people there, the need for healing and tanking is greatly reduced as everything dies so quickly.

    That's when I realized that fates are actually a huge help for damage dealing classes, since they can now get decent experience without needing a tank and healer.

    As for the suggestion of lazy design, I have seen plenty of (cleverly written) quests thus far; FFXIV probably has as much content in terms of quests as MMOs, but leveling the same character so many times, they run out. Some more quests would probably be good; perhaps they'll add more in time.

    I wouldn't say fates are lazy, just that they overpower all of the other leveling content. If you want to be efficient there is no other option. Just tweaking the amount of exp earned for various things will encourage a more balanced experience.

    FATE's are the most garbage aspect of the game. SE really needs to make other options of leveling more rewarding experience wise. I mean honesty you have to be a real durp or brain dead to sit through leveling multiple classes/jobs with this zerg fest crap. Sit in town, stare at map, run to fate, zerg comes with you, spam aoe aoe aoe aoe, durp durp durp

    wasn't the old days of constantly killing every single monsters on the map the same thing?

    All we ever did in the old days of grinding by killing was make a group and zerg fest a area while killing every single thing in sight by spamming every single AoE skill possible.

    I mean seriously Kill grinding in this game has just been replaced by FATEs.

    Hunring logs and dungeons give good exp too. Do a mix of the three.
