PS3 display question

When i play on PS3 using my PC monitor the resolution is pretty poor and seems zoomed in quite a bit. Using a HDMI cable and my monitor is capable of 1080p. I cant see my gil at the bottom either it seems to be cut off. Anyone else have this or how i can fix it? Cant see an option in game or on the client. The PC version works just fine on my PC using the same monitor.

This game runs in 720p on PS3 iirc..so make sure you have it set to that via the display settings in the XMB.

That doesnt seem to fix the problem. i THINK my monitor sets my display to 1280 x 720 instead of 1980 x 1200. Any reason why this is or how to fix it?

Is there a way to scale the HUD? like make the entire screen larger or smaller?

I had this issue before as well, I set my screen setting on my TV to Native and it fixed it up for me.

The only thing I can think is to make sure your monitor isn't set to zoom or wide. I had this problem on my monitor with my PS3 and that corrected it. I play on a tv and a monitor (dependent upon the room), and both had that same problem.

I have the same problem Soraki!! Its weird. The display is perfect on a smaller TV but my big HD one that I mainly use when on the PS3, it doesnt fit. I can barely see my chat box to type things in and my gil isnt there. It's not zoomed in, wide screen.....tried all the settings on my ps3 and still the display doesnt fit. ;_; Been looking for a solution as well.

The reason it does this to you (and its likely different than the OP's issue) is because of overscan. Most console games that have (important) graphical items near the edge of the screen (outside of the title safe or action safe areas), allow you to "adjust" the screen size to account for your specific TV. go into hud placement in the settings menu. you can move things around there

Seems it is the resolution im having issues with, wonder why PS3 doesnt support 1920 1280.
