    Server optimization, and general expectations.

    It is no big secret that since early access, Square Enix has shown how ill-prepared they are to manage a game as big as Final Fantasy. This evidence comes in the form of full servers, disconnection errors, and poor game performance. Despite upgrading their server hardware, I still experience R(0) lag spikes, and due to the culling of textures large fates, such as Svaras flight, are impossible to participate in due to Svara herself being culled/disappearing. To add icing on the cake, me and some friends just tried to participate in the odin battle and were among the first to get into the once in 3 day event. Unfortunately, as more and more players piled into the small area that the Odin battle took place in, we were all disconnected from the server due to the servers not being able to handle so many players in one area. Consequently, my friends and I all started receiving Error 90000 and could not log back into the server.

    The servers clearly need to be re-optimized and perhaps even upgraded once again. Some quality of life changes, in the form of free transfers, for large servers, such as balmung, should also be enacted. The game in its current form is near impossible to play, and this launch has been rocky enough. With large world events like Odin being impossible to participate in, I am reserving my subscription until I see a more serious effort come out of squeenix. Disregarding the DC issues, their is a plethora of other problems plaguing the game, which include the culling of boss mobs like Svara and Odin. This culling makes it impossible to participate in said events. I would suggest that Square does a large server maintenance, perhaps for an entire week, while they iron out the bugs and increase their server capacity so the game is in a playable state before the free month runs out.

    Not at all, I have 75/35 Verizon Fios in the Maryland/D.C. Area. It was suggested in another thread that it was an issue with the hub in this location, but regardless the lag is quite obviously coming from server load. The texture culling is a result of bad optimization, and the wide-scale disconnects are placed solely on the shoulders of square-enix's terrible server hardware.

    Also, besides Svara and Odin what is this "plethora" of issues you speak of? I'm not having any - especially when it comes to sever stability.

    For what it's worth, OP, the server upgrades SE has implemented so far seem to be no more than their emergency measures to make the game playable. It's stated that they're still working towards a full upgrade of their servers in Yoshi-P's recent announcement:
