    No one talks

I have been on Trabia for a little bit now. I have not played much and I am a level 10 Gladiator. I am getting the hang of the controls and what to do but no one will talk to me. I'd love to meet other players and do different things in game but no one responds to anything I say. I have tried numerous times to start up a conversation with the few people i see roaming but no one is interested. Why is this?

Same on all servers really. Just how it is. To combat this I usually shout random nonsense in Ul'dah till someone answers.

As you gain a bit more in level - past 10 (which can be done in about 1 leve run) and start hitting up Horizon behest at the appropriate level I hope things get better for you.

You can do what Jinrya says. You could try to find a linkshell and then talk with them. More conversation happens in linkshells than with random people roaming around. Or you could use this thread to meet people to converse with in game.

I agree with sasaiki in finding a linkshell that welcomes beginners. Fated children is a good social shell to join with lots of players. Xander king is the ls master. Good luck!

If you need any help or anything feel free to send me a /tell in game. If you are hanging out in Limsa or Gridania you won't find much conversation anyways. Everyone hangs out in Uldah.

I agree with the first poster. Im sure a lot of people have seen me yelling things in Uldah or wherever, but only a few people are funny enough to shout back.

Although Sailor Moon is pretty chatty.

It's been this way since beta. Once you get out of the low levels, and into at least your rank 10 area, you can start doing behests. Behests happen every hour on the hour. You can see when the next behest is by typing /clock. Look for a battle warden at the camp you are at and join the behest. It may be tough to do solo if you are low in rank compared to the camp, but the purpose here is that most of the time other people will be doing the behest as well. /say Could I get an invite to the behest party please? You will almost always get an invite. While waiting for the behest strike up a conversation with the other people in the party. When the behest ends invite people to stay in a party to do leves. You will meet a lot of people at lower levels doing behests, but it doesn't really start till you get to the rank 10 camp. So if you're in Ul'dah get yourself to Camp Drybone asap, if Limsa Liminsa, go to Camp Skull Valley, and if Gridania, go to either Ul'dah or Limsa Lominsa, because hardly anyone plays in Gridania, especially at those low levels. Ul'dah is probably the most populated place on the two servers I've played on.

Hope this helps you. There are actually a lot of nice and friendly people out there, but for some reason people tend to keep to themselves outside of linkshells and doing behests.

Contrary to what some might think, I like to be friendly and help new people out. I'll help you with gear and stuff since I can make most low rank gear and weapons. I have some low rank jobs that I can go do leves with new ppl. Show them the ropes and junk. And we both get something out of it

No relation to the show Sailor Moon...dammit

She is the one named Solara Moon!
Also, like Bird mentioned earlier, my linkshell welcomes new players. It seems like there's been an increase in newer players recently.
