Perma-ban the buyers. Make it public so word gets out quickly that SE is serious. The only reason these tards exist is because there is a market.
When I first saw them it was the generic brand. Now the names are looking more like someone took some time to come up with them. That tells me these are stolen accounts and with our new to MMO crowd, that kind of bothers me.
The only thing I would ask or encourage from SE would be to draw awareness to strong PW creation from new to online games people.
I know we can't stop RMT, just keep a lid on it but I'd like to keep the accounts of new people out of their hands if it is at all possible.
this is unacceptable

I just want to blacklist them but instead of a fast right click/ignore I have to type in their name which makes it even more obnoxious.
Also the spam from the above poster, this went on for like 10 min when I was in the city.
Ended up ignoring them and guess what, getting whispered by 4 of them.
Couldn't even read the FC with their whisper spam.
I must have /blacklisted 18 RMT people yesterday. That is ridiculous.
It's actually kind of funny as upsetting your potential customers isn't usually a good advertising tactic.. so I'd imagine the people doing this are more likely clueless ahd soon to fail RMT organizations.
However SE is doing this in a rather primitive way currently.. They are using regular expressions to parse the messages and filter them that way. :: sigh :: and this is ok but they need to have more in place to deal with it than just that.
SE can come up with better ways if they apply themselves. How about instead we use alternative methods to detect RMT advertisements as opposed to genuine player communication... such as for example.. preventing a player from sending a /tell of ANY message to more than 10 people in a certain amount of time. Spam is a science and we can look to the e-mail people for help, similar strategies should be used.
It's especially difficult to blacklist these players since their names are usually some random string of letters. I can't tell you how annoying it is making sure I have "Aswdasad Gwsedsda" spelled correctly just so I can ignore them..
Why is it not as simple as Right click -> Blacklist/Report for gil selling? Seems like it would make life in Eorzea much easier for those of us just trying to enjoy the game..
SE has several different facilities.
California 08:00-17:00 PST (GMT-8) = 15:00-00:00 GMT
Tokyo 08:00-17:00 JST (GMT+9) = 23:00-8:00 GMT
London 08:00-17:00 BST (GMT+1) = 07:00-16:00 GMT
So yes, as a matter of fact, I do expect them to be working 24/7 because between their California, London, and Tokyo facilities, they ARE.
I do report. The problem is that in Uldah, Grid, and LL there are 40+ different gilsellers daily, per server. It would literally be a full-time job to report each RMT shout. That is why I'm suggesting that SE create a full-time position for it.They can't ban the RMT bots if they don't know where to look at[...]
I agree with the OP, if we are paying you $15/month you need to offer a service better than other free to play MMO's. GW2 has neutralized virtually all RMT/bots and does not force us to pay monthly.
