Advice to stop being hacked!

Ok I am going to post here the best way to stop having your information stolen by keyloggers and Trojans apart from using the SE Token. Please bump this message or add good programs that are free that I haven mentioned.

Avast or AVG Free both good free anti virus programs I prefer Avast right now but I have used both.

Spybots Search and Destroy Great browser protection against drive by bots and fake plugins

MalwareBytes Good program for removing Malware programs that pretend to be something they not like anti virus.

Again these are all free and use these my self please bump this message and support.

Hate to say it, but seeing all these threads recently about being hacked certainly gave me the motivation to finally set up my phone security token...

Use the damn token its free.... via mobile phone..

Don't surf porn - various browser exploits happen here
Don't download illegal files e.g. software/pirated videos occasionally theirs an embedded virus if your not careful
Use an active virus scan - malwarebytes is a great free spyware scanner as well/ run it on occasion

Again - token token token... its pretty powerful to prevent someone from accessing your account and is only a minor annoyance

Yep agree totally but I feel people are not using tokens or decent pc protection you don't need to pay for good pc protection and Norton and macfee suck anyway but I just want people to know of the better alternatives.

Malware Bytes for malware, Microsoft Security Essentials for anti-virus.

Plus, of course, the most important security tip of all - never share your account details with anyone, not your best friend, guildmate, roommate, brother, or anyone.

Does the security token that came with the original game still work with this version? I never played the game long enough first time round to activate it.

yes 14-1 tokens still work they told me i could have still used mine except the screen was shattered. even if it was activated on your FFxiv -1 account it is still useable for XIV-2

Yeah I still use my ffxi token I have 2 spare from both ffxiv collectors additions.
