I don't understand?

So I'm a Tank and currently I'm trying to do stone vigil. I've done all the others so far pretty easy and I've not had any complaints but as of now I'm just finding that i keep hearing i'm not tanking properly and that i suck etc.
I usually mark the first target which is usually the biggest to get it out the way, I flash and stuff because i want all targets on me etc and i always make sure the healer is good and has no targets attacking them (Because their all on me or sleeping).
I mean I've noticed there are a lot of rude douches around but am i doing something wrong? If so any advice to help me out?(This is my first mmo and i play on ps3 so its sometimes a pain to target and chat)

Personally I mark weaker enemies to be killed before stronger ones. Not sure if that makes a difference, but it's worth a shot.

Bad DDs can mess up everything tanker and healer trying to do. So it might be DDs' fault.

Ignore them. The only way to get better at tanking is to try your best and imporve on mistakes you think you made. One trick you can do is pull, tab, fast blade, tab, savage blade, tab, halone while weaving flashes in the combo every 10 or so seconds to ensure maximum enmity. If you have that guy not attacking your marked target, let them tank the one they choose to focus. Its their own damn fault.

I would also agree that marking lower hp mobs first is a good idea, clearing them out of the way first and then moving to the bigger hp target is probably what your DPS does anyway.

If you have a THM/BLM or WHM/CON in your group, ask them to sleep the ones you're not fighting, marking them with the 'don't touch' symbol. Should make everyone's life easier. Just realize the dravanians can't be slept. :X

That's exactly what I do. I'm a BLM, I look at what enemies are around, which one the tank is targeting and cast Sleep on the rest. It's my job to support the tank and attack the single awake target. Once the others awake up, I Sleep them again.

As far as the others you've come across, forget them. They're just looking for something to complain about to cover up their own shortcomings from the sound of it.
