This does not say "when turned in"...it says "at time of completion". This could very well mean that whatever class you are when you finishing stabbing the 8th Dodo gets the SP. Anything else doesn't make sense to me. Why would the game let me run around as an r41 lancer and let me use that to rank up my r15 alchemist...?

I would hope a task from a crafting or gathering guild wouldnt require you to kill something. That would be stupid.

Well the patch notes does specifically say adventurers guilds.

Which only serves to tell you where these quests can be obtained. As Mack noted above, they separated Adventurers' Guilds from Eorzea's guilds, most likely for a reason. And as for the German translation:

Indem man die Anschlagbretter in den Abenteurergilden der verschiedenen Stadtstaaten untersucht, kann man dort ausgeschriebene Aufgaben für die verschiedenen Gilden annehmen.

roughly translates to, "By examining the notice boards in the various city-states, one can undertake the posted tasks for the various guilds."

Note the bolded parts? they separate Adventurer's Guild and "Eorzea's Guilds" and rather than typing out all 19 guilds associated with each class they figured Eorzea's Guilds would be good enough....little did they know we were all air heads.
