    Aetherflow (ARC)

What is the point of having this stacking buff on you. I get that it lets you cast drain which is weak as hell, but is there any other benefits?

The drain is the biggest nuke you have.
    It it off the gcd.
The mana return is great especially later healing.

Well I suppose it is a bit stronger, but not by much. Maybe its my level. I am level 20, and right now my ruin is doing 30 damage, and my drain is doing 50 damage. Except ruin has a cool down equal to its cast time. Also as far as mana goes, I honestly have had 0 issues with it. Its like I regen faster then I spend. I have 400 mana, and I almost never see it drop below full, despite frequent casting.

So aside from being able to cast drain, is there any other reason to have it on?

At lvl 30 you get Bane. An ability that allows you to make your DOTs to spread in a zone. And each use costs one Aetherflow.
And having it on increases your mana pool and you can recast it fast if you are using drain for spike damage

The first time I had to actually use Aetherflow due to mana running out on my ACN was versus Ifrit, when I helped tank with Topaz (thus having to heal nonstop).
Other than that, I never use it also. But good to know I'll have to on lv30.

SCH can use an Aetherflow charge to instantly recover someone's HP by 20%, with a 1 second recast. It's weaker than Benediction but has the huge advantage of being usable more often, since 20% instantly can often save a tank's life and you can pick and choose how many stacks to use as the situation calls for it.

SMN get Fester that use Aetherflow and it hit very hard and they use bane to aoe
SCH use Aetherflow for Lustrate(insta heal), Sacred Soil(aoe dmg reduction) and sometimes mana
