I have the FFxiv 1.0 box / code/ played beta/ Cant Play since launch

Thats pretty much it. i have the ffxiv 1.0 box set, code and the cd in the case on my desk as we speak but im still unable to play this game since the day it released without any options to play it if i even wanted to.


I preordered the game when 1.0 came out and my brother set the game up while i was at work. He went all tard mode and put in his name and email cause he couldn't recall my email off the bat and figured i could change it.

Welp long story short the game was pretty much unplayable. I had zero desire to try to go through support to fix it because i was basically unable to play the game with problems i cant even recall now.
I shoved the game in the box of dead and retired games and it collected dust.

Well years later ffxiv comes out AGAIN i'm super excited cause they are trying to fix the sequal to ffxi .

To wrap this up. I'm told by customer service that i cant use the game i bought before. That my only option is to re buy the game. I'm told that even though i have the physical copy of my game in my hands and my story is 100% legit i mean come on the last names are the same on the account, adress is only about 10 miles apart i'm still shit out of luck. It was always my account for the 10 minutes i played it.

Now to beat it all EVen if i was the kinda guy that would blow another 50-60 bucks on a game i already have in my hands currentlyi couldn't if i wanted to due to no digital sales are even going on.

I feel like i'm holding out 15 dollars to give away with physical proof i've been willing to do so for years now from buying the last one as a preorder.

What do i get out of it? More time to find another mmo to play i guess? nobody at Square enix wants me to play this one.

Ps 2 1/2 hours on phone support. boys need to hire more people and drop some more money on servers. It's a shame to waste millions on development and then skimp on the foundation it sits on

If Square enix ever changes there minds and allows me to use my copy of FFxiv 1.0 on my beta account to start paying that monthly fee email me about it i'd be willing to play it . But this post is the last attempt at it. Though i dont really have much hopes in it alot of good games are coming out so i find myself caring a little less each day. GTA5 I'm superpumped

I'm having the same issue. Purchased and registered 1.0 in Sept. 2010, played for maybe a month then quit due to the plethora of issues. I participated in the closed and open betas and then when launch started, I couldn't play because my 1.0 service was not transferred to the Mog Station. Under SE service history it shows that I registered my game in 2010 but I'm unable to reactivate it! I've been waiting since Aug 24th to have my issue addressed but they keep closing my tickets. I don't have the option to use chat or phone support because like most working adults in North America, I work during the same time their service centre is open.

I am hearing the same story from a lot of 1.0 users who have "successfully" contacted support - only resolution is to repurchase the game. SE has stated on several occasions that 1.0 users would not have to repurchase so their "resolution" is extremely disappointing and frankly, unethical. I myself will not be re-purchasing as I feel we shouldn't have to. We already paid for the game, it's not our fault SE released a broken game to begin with.

No, I only have the one SE ID but only my beta account is listed in mog station.

I dunno. You would think they would be more then happy to throw fixes or even free copies to cases like this cause nerds like us spend more money monthly then what the cheap 20-30 bucks that it was on greenmangaming i saw before they stopped doing sales / preorders. I already bought diablo3 on console.

I just feel like this is a case where they are way to many people with silly jobs that isn't seeing the bigger picture. You keep us from playing it now. you have lost a few more subscribers before the game even gets its first month of monthly payments in.

For since everquest i have hardly never skipped a mmo launch and i've always been paying some type of sub to a game over the years. Looks like i will be skipping this one because in truth i already did buy the game. and i played it. ( for like a minute) then i did the beta thing. Threw out my credit card and nobody is biting. IF companies wanna make money they gonna have to brighten up
