Tips for the main conj quests...

...And the good-bad-ugly experiences you've had while doing them.

I ask only because I know I had a rough time completing Trial by Wind ("Focus on offense, I'll handle the healing!" the NPC says, yeah, okay), and Like Mother, Like Daughter is making me want to level until it absolutely has to sync me in the instance.

Same here. Trial by wind was super hard for me. Those NPC's are full of crap. And Like Mother, Like Daughter, I did it twice, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. The NPC keeps saying don't use conjurer skills, but that's what I am. I have Ruin from ANC, but that spell sucks.

If Like Mother, Like Daughter is the quest I'm thinking of, do not attack the monsters. Focus on healing the three conjurers. Attacking the elementals will cause them to summon monsters from the forest to aid them. If you instead focus on healing the conjurers, the forest will aid you.

As for Trial by Wind, focus on attack magic like Woulfie says, but don't necessarily rely on her to heal you fully. Keep your HP topped off and you should be fine. Make sure to always take the adds out as quickly as possible, then go back to targeting the main target.

As both a White Mage and Summoner respectfully, I found Conjurer quests to be much more difficult. Just keep at it!

Edit: I also can't stress enough how important Cleric Stance is. The damage boost really speeds things along and can potentially save you the hassle of a drawn out fight. Just make sure you're switching it off when you go to heal yourself. I never thought to use Cleric Stance much in the beginning, but after giving it a shot I found it to make solo quests much, much easier.

I don't even think you can actually target the elementals in that fight. More enemies just spawn as part of the fight. If you don't attack the enemies you are likely to get overwhelmed.

I did it just fine killing the enemies before they nerfed the fight, and the elementals still helped the NPCs and I. These fights just seem to be all about using Cleric Stance swapping effectively.

cleric stance on, burn down any mobs that npcs are also targeting to kill them first. ignore targets with large health pools until everything else is dead. keep regen on yourself for quests after 35. for quests below that, just prioritize keeping your health up without overhealing yourself ( i usually waited until I was at half health, then cast cure2 on myself). You can use this strat for pretty much every cnj/whm quest. You don't need to worry about cleric stance toggle until the level 50 tree healing quest.

As you may have guessed by the other responses, ignore what Sylphie is saying. Use your spells, keep the NPCs healed up and I did damage to the Mud guys and the forest creatures did help. Toggling Cleric Stance as you go between DPS and healing helps a lot.

They actually lowered the difficulty of those two quests in the last patch.

Best thing I did was to stay on the main target, tree elemental. Keep healing and it will be over quicker.

When I tried to keep the 3 conjurer's alive, I just got more aggro from adds.

I just finished it this morning. I killed the mud guys first, then the adds, then one of the trees. Lost 2 of the cons. And I read where everyone says they made everything easy. But I'm not a hard core gamer. This is my first mmo, so I find things that some people call easy a little difficult. Like everyone saying Ifrit is easy. My team wiped about 10 times. It was the first time for all of us and took us a while to figure out how to do it. Thanks for all the input though guys. Glad I can get some help without being flamed on.
