Item Transfer Option Between Characters

I would like a way to transfer items between my characters on the same server. I think this is an important option because we all have the capacity to make 8 characters per server.

Currently you can only mail items to friends. You cannot mail items to yourself because you cannot add yourself as a friend. You can ask a friend to trade items to you, but players that do not have friends online will not be able to trade.

You can use the market to transfer items by buying and selling to yourself, but that makes you waste gil (tax payments).

I would like a cross-character bank or retainer where you can dump your items/gil from one character and receive them on another character. This has been done before in other MMO games and it would be a good solution here. You can keep mail restricted to friends only and people can still transfer items between characters on the same server.

Sorry to bump this but I agree with this. I am excited for the PS4 version and I have made a new player JUST for that. And I have worked to get the lightning returns items and all other event items and want to have my new character to wear them. I would REALLY love to see a way to transfer these items at least to different characters on the same server.

i would like to transfer items too...specialy items from the dungeons that you'll not use anymore in your main char!

whaaat the heck.. Is this really not an option? I'm new, and I see there are loads of restrictions in the game, but holy hell, you can't transfer items between characters?! come on!!!
