    The problem is the server only updates your location every 0.3 seconds, so regardless of location you have the potential to occasionally be running at 300ms.

    It is getting tiring reading people calling players who get hit by AOE's bads, it's been accepted by SE as being a genuine problem and if you can watch this and feel that this is good game design, please never get into the industry

    The difficulty of a fight should be in coordinating your team, reacting to inconsistent mechanics, maximising your output amongst many other things, NOT in praying the datacenter has registered your new location, the competition has this, why should we accept it in FFXIV?

    For me the thing is just wonky. Have no problem dodging things playing normally, but get into a duty finder battle and it becomes a different story. Just for some comparisons, I can dodge Svara's AoEs without any problems with the horde of people there for the most part, but there is almost nothing I can do to avoid Titan's Landslide when he uses it on me, or Chimera's Blue Eyes for example. The one time I was caught in Garuda's move where have to be behind the rocks, I was behind a rock. Granted these are not the hard mode fights, but when there is a discrepancy between dodging things in dungeons and the world, something odd is going on.

    There is no problem with Titan, if you have any lag you need to more out of aoe ASAP. Do not finish your cast while you are in an aoe! I'm in Australia on a Japanese server, of course I have over 100 ping >.>. I downed him too.

    Don't blame the game for your inability to move out of aoe just because you want to finish your cast.

    I don't think Lancer's have any problems with needing to finish a cast before moving. And I do move as soon as I see am the target of Titan's abilities, or things like Chimera's Blue Eyes, it is just more often than not I still get caught by them even when have moved out of range. So in Titan's case, not only do I move out of the aoe, I also move towards a spot to not be tossed off the platform too because I can not rely on the indicators to know if I am going to avoid it or not.

    Best example I have of how bad it is involves Chimera, according to my screen, I was farther away from the boss than the tank, and I got hit by blue eyes and he did not. If that is not an example of something being wonky I don't know what else to tell you.

    Nobody is saying it is impossible.

    People are just stating there's a noticeable delay between where you are, and where the server thinks you are and it shouldn't be worked around, it should be addressed.

    Seems to be something that people are missing out on, I experienced it really stupidly today in "The Howling Eye" Trial, me and a friend was doing it with 2 randoms at the time, when it gets to the bit where the boss vanishes into some other location and does it's one shot, you just simply run behind the rocks, yet she ran behind the rocks in time and still got insta killed anyway and I actually saw her die right on top of us.

    Now sure people can just say "get better" and "react faster", but do you know what I say? "Jog on mate", simply because we shouldn't have to have a much harder time in avoiding aoes which seems to be this games main gimmick and then when you find your self getting slapped or insta killed because of crap like that...yeah I think the player has a right to get annoyed.

    Okay, I am speaking as a tank here. But before that, I'd like to say... what's up with the chocobos lagging backwards in the game? Anyway...

    I'm from EU. I get hit by a cone of fire even though I clrearly stepped away from it. This is a big issue not only for me, but for everyone in the game, because this is a party play game. It's not only EU having this problem, I believe some in S.US has this problem too. The americans in my party on the EU server lagged behind. If I get to 50 and notice that I get killed just because of silly latency, when I'm off the border of that aoe, then I will unsub and play guild wars 2 while waiting for wildstar.

    PVP NA people will completly SPANK all EU people because of latency issues. This is a known fact. No one with high latency can be high ranked in PvP.

    Oh and btw australians, it's your stupid government so dont be lazy, read up and vote on a better regime. I'm gonna vote with unsubbing to FF.

    Now, to the people complaining about 200 ms pings: Are you sure the problem is because you're 100 ms behind? The average reaction time is roughly 200 ms. If an enemy begins casting a two second attack, 200 ms has already passed due to ping. Then factor in your reaction time of 200 ms, running out of range (800 ms? sound about right?), the 200 ms for the server to process your final location outside of the circle... 1.4 seconds. So you have 600 ms of spare time.

    This isn't to say you aren't experiencing lag problems. But perhaps it's not entirely due to your 200 ms ping? Maybe your local internet is shoddy, maybe it's something on your computer. But let's not jump the gun and blame one tenth of a second for all your problems.
