How about letting ppl craft in their house? That would solve the bell issue completely.

I don't know, I mean, these guys are a direct access to selling your items in the AH. Kinda making it a bit to easy imo. Why do we need AH access everywhere.
Set it up like FFXI did, have three remotes for each city. But really don't need them everywhere.
Oh and I also have the bug, if I summon in the inn, I free if I try to collect or deposit gil or items.
I think I echo a few thoughts in this thread when I say please don't add summoning bells all over the world. To do so would break apart of the feel of the beautiful, engaging world you have created. To see bells in remote wilderness camps, snowy highlands etc would ruin the lore and fantasy for me. I think it would be like breaking the fourth wall.
Keep the main cities as hubs of trade. Best suggestions for me are crafting inside the Inn Room or just dotting a few more bells at different locations around the starting cities.
Seeing a bell appear in Mor Dhona or the Highlands for example.... no thank you!
It would be cool if there was a NO CRAFTING radius around npc's and retainer bells so we could actually see the npc. I realize people would just craft on the barrier but at least the click target would be more available.
Strix: "Behold this collection of grimoires of legend! Feel their power and puissance, and let it fill you with rapturous pleasure...then DIE!"

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ

This would be a nice addition.
The whole concept of these "retainers" is outdated and irrelevant anyways. Ive been all over Ul'Dah.. I have yet to see a single area with a bunch of "retainers" standing around selling things. So WHY the over-complicated process of creating them, managing them, and designing them?
Quite frankly, this game would lose absolutely NOTHING, (if anything, be vastly IMPROVED.) if they just scrapped the whole concept and simply used a standard auction house/marketplace that EVERY other MMO uses. Interacting with the Market board does 100% of the SAME thing, and doesnt require loading an entire new NPC into the game.
Oh wait.. we WOULD lose the ability to buy overpriced items from a vendor named "Ilovetits" .. cause that's just a HUGE feature none of us can survive without right?
Now they've hinted in 2.1 the "market will be re-designed" honestly it will not surprise me in the slightest if the whole system gets scrapped and redone from the ground up.
Mainly because as of right now.. just like the UI, it's clunky, overly complicated, bulky, and full of unneeded clicking that serves NO purpose.
