No, the FF version of Shiva is based on the Hindu god (who is actually both male and female, to whoever stated Shiva was a male). The reference is more noticeable in some of the older games, where the summon actually has the more traditional look associated with the deity.

I'll just remind you all that Final Fantasy does indeed have a history of poking fun at Christianity. (Or really, Judeo-Christian and organized religions in general.) FFX being the obvious example of course. Yuna walking on water, the Church of Yevon, etc. But also, remember JENOVA? Yeah, change a letter and add another on the end and you get JEHOVAH, the personal name of the Judeo-Christian God. Then, of course, there are the obvious religious implication of Sephiroth's name (And Boss names) and the Cetra/Ancients.
I heard we might be killing Sephiroth/Jesus at some point. Kind of like the Lightning FATE that is coming.I'll just remind you all that Final Fantasy does indeed have a history of poking fun at Christianity. omfg, I never beat him in 7, and he was a bitch to kill in kingdom hearts, didn't play crisis core. I'd think he'd be worse to kill as a FATE, cause it would take more than just one person.
Sephiroth and his bitch of a long ass sword that can reach you from one side of the field to the other - no point in running, you are always in his reach
I wonder what he would drop? Other than his sword. :/

his armor maybe. possibly a wing prop we could wear. maybe a minion of him in his final form.omfg, I never beat him in 7, and he was a bitch to kill in kingdom hearts, didn't play crisis core. I'd think he'd be worse to kill as a FATE, cause it would take more than just one person.

I think you got this wrong, read the description for Odin, looking for a worthy Challenge, meaning he isn't evil or bad he is just bored. In all of the FF series all the Summons/Primals/Avatars are always looking to "test" people to see if they are "worthy" to be given power, whats the best way to test someone? have them fight something is the way this game is going so of course they will have it like that.
actually its not, concept of God Shiva has been around a lot longer then corruption of shiver, considering the Hinduism has been around for thousands of years. It's just coincidental. "Shiva" is a corruption or whatever of "Shiver".

you people and your funny posts
HAILODIN I wish you were on the Excalibur server so we could be Final Fantasy Friends.
Hail Odin!
