Why Is It even called EU when It's based in Canada?

This question got me thinking really. Why on earth are you calling them EU servers/Realms/Worlds or whatever you call them. When In fact they are based In CANADA. A big country above AMERICA. EUROPE Is on the other side of the world. Am I really just being too picky or do I have a point?

Secondly. If they are called EU for a reason are there any plans to move them to EUROPEAN servers? Which would squash this thread.

And why do most games have Oceanic servers that are still located in NA?
We Australians have been copping 300+ ping for years......and if we ever say anything we get told to suck it up or don't play.
Why the heck should Europe be any different?
And if you aren't hitting 300+ ping then you really have no issue.
Personally mine is anywhere from 300-900ms at any given time. And I can still play just fine.

blame Australia's terrible networking laws for that. The oceanics would likely be better off adopting a JPN server honestly but that'd be rough to coordinate.

I can tell you a major point regarding just that, population.
Australia: ~22M
North America: ~350M
Europe: ~740M

So not having a server located in the middle of this side of the planet is just ridiculous.
As for aussies, having a optical sea fiber laid on the bottom of the sea between japan, australia other and "nearby" contries would help. I dont know how much infrastructure there is already though.
