If people would stop buying gil they wouldn't get hacked, or perhaps not being completely stupid when visiting a website that they don't know

Go after the buyers. Perma-ban first time offenders. Make it public so the word gets out that SE is serious.
With any luck, the market for these RMT bottom-feeders in life will dry up and they'll go elsewhere.
I've visited a couple of these websites just out of curiosity of how invested they are in this scheme. They seem to originate from China. I usually reply to them with 藏獨 / 藏独 (Free Tibet) or other blacklisted keywords in China's great firewall. Probably won't do anything though. I'd love to buy a massive amount of gil and then chargeback and bankrupt them for a while. We should start doing that and then raffling the gil away!
While this is a legit issue, I think there are still more pressing issues in the game right now then worrying about gil spammers.

There are RMT guilds full of lvl 50's behind these spammers.
These RMT guilds use the hacked accounts as proxies, for trading and spamming.
Get to their core; find the RMT guilds by looking at gill transfers and what not, look for RMT activity and back trace.
Remove the RMT guilds and all their lvl50 RMTrs, remove the core, the spammers will go as well. Get rid of these lowlifes.
It's 2013. Put some effort into it.
reminds me of the time i got a gold seller to ignore ME in wow, all i simply did was ask him what he thought of his governments systematic rape of Tibet and its culture. He went on a rather amusing rant, and when i demanded to speak to his manager i was ignored.
Tho honestly my personal favorite when dealing with gold sellers was asking how much they had on stock, and smiling because i had more![]()
Do you really not know how to directly copy a picture link from ImageShack..........?
