Help, stuck at log in screen!

It has already been half a day and the problem still persists. I am stuck at the page where it asks me to type in my login/password. Once I click the Log In button, the page refreshes and does NOT move forward to the Play Game button! Its just stuck at the log in page!!
I tried rebooting, using a different internet connection or a different computer but nothing works! I seriously need help here please. I had been playing this game for months and it has been fine. My internet is working normally and with game ports open etc.

After waiting an hour at the log in page, after I click log in again, it poped up a new page saying "Service currently unavailable due to maintenance"...but it isnt time for the patch yet. Something is really off here, I am playing over at the Hong Kong region, I do hope I am not the only person experiencing this problem...

At first it could sound like you need to look into the security settings / cache of Internet Explorer, but you say you have tried on a different computer as well?

Clear your internet explorer cache, and lower your security settings to medium (at least)

This will work. The login screen uses IE settings. So make sure they are at default. Internet option settings that is.

I actually just did that and am still getting the "currently undergoing maintenance" prompt when logging in. It used to be just fine, then after the servers came back online after the downtime in Japan.. Haven't been able to log in at all..

Just remember that the FFXIV login window is actually a web page that is tied to internet explorer.

If you have to, you can upgrade to IE9 or uninstall/reinstall internet explorer and that may also fix the issue.

I noticed that above as well and tried logging in when I lowered the security tab down to Medium and nothing changed.. Only just now did I think to check the "Privacy" tab of IE9 (that I barely use anyway) and it was set higher to High. Lowered to Medium High and bam, I can now magically log in~
