AoE telegraphs could be vastly improved

Recently the AoE telegraphs (markers) on the ground in this game were changed. They now have a "pulsing" effect over them. I understand the reasoning for this was to make them more noticeable, however I think this pulse effect could be used much more effectively if it actually meant something.

If anyone has played Wildstar, that game also uses a telegraph system to mark effects on the ground, except the pulses actually correlate to the CAST time of the specific AoE. Essentially, the entire AoE marker becomes a giant cast bar, and the pulse indicates the cast happening in real time. This lets you look at the telegraph and you are able to tell instantly how long it will take before it is cast without having to target the specific creature to check it's cast bar.

I think this would greatly benefit the AoE telegraphs in this game and make combat feel just that much smoother and natural. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, there was a big thread with this suggestion back when they were initially changed in 2.16 or whatever. If I recall correctly, a CM eventually chimed in and said that they'd brought the feedback to the effects team. However, there was no information on a timeframe.

We've passed along the suggestion of timing the pulse to match with the action being readied to the effects team. They're currently looking into whether or not it's possible to implement!
