We're all aware that latency in instances is a problem in this game, and SE are presumed to have conceded that by moving the delay and unresponsiveness thread to the accepted bugs forum. This thread is to discuss any potential workarounds being implemented for this dungeon and particularly the Taulurd fight in order to allow jobs with latency issue to be able to clear - before any change is made to fix the latency issue with instances altogether (if a fix for this can even be performed.)
the problem: In my situation, for example, I'm a white mage. In short, as a white mage which dodges the red circles and still gets hit due to latency issue, the fight's impossible. I haven't managed to dodge one, in 10+ Taulurd attempts and believe me, I've been out, healthily out, a long way out of them and they've still connected. I've attempted running backward and forward constantly, only stopping to cast, and it hasn't done a damn thing. As soon as I see the red line from the deepvoid slaves to me, I'm screwed. Even if the circle doesn't appear under my feet because I'm already out of it (due to constantly running and regencuring everyone because there's no casting time for regen) it hits.
I've had latency problems since day 1 with the game, but I've been able to adjust the manner of which I fight in order to pass through instances where positioning and avoiding attacks is important. My workarounds are as follows:
1: Having a wired cat5 ethernet connection. Resetting router and restarting before hitting the DF.
2: Ifrit's plumes/explosions - Sucking it up and timing cures on myself to get hit, and be healed almost immediately.
3: Haukke manor (Manor Clavinger miniboss) - Same as Ifrit.
4: Titan's knockback - asking the tank to hold Titan at the edge of the stage, getting so close to Titan's back when healing, his knockback doesn't knock me off the stage. Rinsing, repeating.
5: Stone Vigil (Chudo-Yudo miniboss) - Staying extremely close to the back of the dragon, popping sprint and running like hell to a corner of the stage on the same side of him to avoid his AOE which follows immediately after his line of sight. Much luck required.
5: Garuda's line of sight attack - Permanently being behind one pillar, and asking the group to sacrifice it in order for me to stay up. Memorising Garuda's patterns and being in the right place before her line of sight happens. Luck, as well.
All of the above are means that I've had to use in order to clear things I should be able to avoid. But I'm okay with that- finding ways around things is perfectly acceptable to me; even though it means I won't be able to do Primal Hardmodes because obviously, these little tricks won't work. What gets me is that there's no workaround possible for Taulurd. You dodge, or you're eating dirt. Yes, Firewater does around 1200 damage. Your HP as a white mage is around 2200. When you're targetted by two Firewaters at once (as has been my case multiple times) you're screwed.
Is it too much to ask for a workaround on this, potentially the deepvoid slaves being able to be slept? They could have surprisingly high HP preventing anyone from being able to burn them down; but just being able to be slept would make a (quite literally impossible) fight possible.
