So what im getting from some of the posters that are not for increasing gil drops really want this game to just be about the grind.
Its kind of funny this might be the first MMO ive played where farm/craft grind is more important than killing stuff.
Really wasn't expecting that from all the newsletters really wish I could have maxed lvl'ed in beta and found this out cause I wouldn't have wasted all this time.
O well was fun lvling to 50 and getting stuck on my relic quest.

If playing the game to earn gil is considered a "grind", then yes, every MMO that exist is a grind when it comes to getting money.
If you want to avoid your type of "grind", then I'm afraid RMT is the only way for you.

I suggest you write down your exact amount of gil, then do 10 WP/AK runs in a row, then repair all your items, sell all allagan pieces you've earned and you will notice that you have more gil than before you started, not to mention all those juicy tombstones to boot.

Reading at everyone only explains the success of goldsellers, because currently the only way for the average player to make significant (200.000+) gils is either to spend 20$ in 3 clicks or to spend two weeks leveling an alt to 50. In either case there is no pleasure. SE has to decide now which category of customers they are looking for, because for me like for many others in two weeks time or less, I will be broke and will have to quit.

If you refuse to sell things on the market and do levequests, of course you're not going to find 200k gil on your lap just afking in Ul'dah. You have to work for you money, like it should be.

well i think they need to add way to make gil that work for each type of player.
actually the market is well done and allows the...trader type to get gil.
crafter can make gils (it's long tough)

but for the fighting type... nothing, you are forced to be a trader, crafter for make gils and that not fair.

With the changes they made, a fighting type can make enough gil to pay for the repair bills. I still don't see why a fighter type deserves to get rich? As long as you can keep paying your repairs, it should not be a problem.
Again, do levequests, there are fighting leves as well, you know.

every mmo has a way for a fighter type to get rich. Even 1.0 did. Why u think 2.0 should be the exception is beyond me.

Because 2.0 is not 1.0. So how it's beyond you is probably because you still think 2.0 is just expansion of 1.0.
SE have said that ARR is like a new MMO, so clearly they don't want everything from 1.0 into 2.0.

Do leves, farm various leathers and materials that go for a high price on the market. You can get rich as a "fighter" type. I really don't understand what you guys are requesting, do you want to do a dungeon and get 100k gil reward?
Or do you want to kill 50 monsters out in the field and get 50k gil? There are ways to get money as a "fighter" type, attempt to at least find out yourself how to.

(Sorry if it has been mentioned somewhere in the 21 pages...)
I would like to know why the decision was made from 1.0 to ARR to make gear bind to you when you use it, therefore making it unsaleable or tradeable. I know a lot of MMOs do it, but I think it does not help with the problem some players have in making gil.
New players leveling classes/jobs will of course purchase gear as they level up (you get some rewarded free too via quest rewards I understand that), but instead of being able to at least recoup some of that cost while leveling, their only option is to then convert that gear into materia - or sell it to an NPC for very little gil. Some materia is worth a few thousand gil (or more) and some of them are useful, but personally I would like to be able to chose whether I trash a piece of equipment or re-sell it. Also it is a shame that gear can no longer be traded to others to use who may find it useful, especially with the introduction of the Free Company Chest.
