I don't know if anyone else has thought of this. Seeing how long this thread is they probably did but I tried a few things to search for it and didn't find anything so here goes.

Why not just make it so that when you complete quests at max level the exp you gained, rather than being wasted, is converted over to gil? It doesn't have to be a even conversion because that would just cause inflation but maybe a 20-25% conversion of the exp into gil would work. Alternatively maybe make the boss' also drop a Alagon piece but instead of it going to a single person like form chests the one from the boss is a bit better quality and gives one or two to everyone? And I don't just mean the end boss but every boss in that instance. Like if a instance has tin the boss' have bronze and so on.

How about a gil bonus if you queue up for a dungeon that requires you to level sync? A 25% bonus in gil per every 5 synced levels when there is someone not-level synced in the party would help. A 50 running Tam-Tara would see a 175% gil reward bonus. The sweet spot would probably be running the level 30-40 dungeons where you could get 50-75% bonus.

No one who has posted in this thread can prove whether or not there is in fact an over-all gil supply problem. All they can do is speak to their own experiences - those who have plenty of gil presume that there is no problem, and those who do not presume that there is.

That being said, most of those who are in the latter group seem to be end game DoW/DoM players who prefer to dungeon grind. So, I got a silly question:

What is keeping you from buying the crafting materials required for the iLevel 70 crafted items with philosophy tokens, and selling them on the market for obscene amounts of gil?

If the answer is "I want to save for darklight," then you are simply facing the same choice that every player in the game is facing, and making the decision to get loot instead of gil, but even so you can start getting the crafting components after you have kitted out your darklight set.

If the answer is "you can't trade that stuff, you noob!" then I can only say that I checked various websites, and no one has updated from 1.0, because they all lack both the unique and untradable flags on every resource I have checked...

No, no, no, a thousand times NO. FATE already provide far too great a reward in terms of XP, and seals, don't add gil to that list. The FATE grind parties are killing playability in the game right now in certain zones, and players who level through FATE grind have no idea how to play their class at high levels, nor do they have the gear. Increase the rewards from Dungeons by all means, and decrease the XP and seal rewards on FATE to something more proportionate to the level of the FATE. Basically do something to encourage players to run their Leves and run more dungeons. This is an MMORPG, and yet players are treating it as single player by grinding levels in FATE in order to power level their class/job. Whatever happened to playing together? Yeah, I know FATE are multi-player, but when you have a hard time seeing the target, never mind other players, the multi-player aspect of FATE disappears into a blind grind for XP and seals.

Here are a few ways I have found to earn gil WITHOUT getting it from other players. I do not claim them to be the best way to get gil or the easiest, these are just suggestions of how to get gil.

    1. do the level 50 crafting levs
    2. vendor all drops you get.
    3. get a gathering skill and farm 100% chance mats then vendor them
    4. farm FATE nude so you have no repair bill
    5. do all the quests in the game, then create a 2nd character and do all the quests again, rinse and repeat

CRAFT TO TAKE ALL THE GIL!!!

Yeah it doesnt add to the community, but in the end, you're playing the game for yourself. Every man/woman for themselves. Screw the rest. The gil will be your precious~

    Repeatable quests

One thing i would like to see is a repeatable quest npc that allows you kill X for Y reward. I know there is leve quests but 5 allowances a day is joke. We pay a monthly charge and should not have to wait for more allowances. Look at how noob friendly the made the game and then make stuff like gil or exp kinda daunting once your first class is leveled. fate grinding get old. Best way to solve this is remove the allowances. or make it so they refresh faster.

I like the idea of the boats in 1.0. If you have teleportation, airships and boats, it gives realistic travel options. Maybe this is already in, but I haven't gotten that far along yet. Ijust remember that in 1.0, if I was low in Anima, I'd hoof it to a boat or airship landing. And that was fun :-)
