I don't understand your fixation on gil creation. Maintaining the balance of gil in the game is SE's worry, not mine. As long as I have the gil I need, I see no need to care whether it was created de novo by the game or it was obtained from another player.
Make dark matter obtained from gathering again.
Allow us to "seek repairs" from fellow players like we could in 1.0
Give incentive to do low lvl dungeons (gil reward for vets)
Up the prices stuff NPCs for.. Like 90% of items NPC for only 1gil.. that's ridiculous!
With the repair costs slashed, I don't think now is the time to go crazy with more gil generation. Lets see how this shakes out.
Also, this is FF14, not WoW. Just because you were a single class in WoW and you ran dailies for gold doesn't mean that's what we should be doing in this game. Doing HQ tradecraft leves for $ is a perfectly acceptable answer. You can earn thousands for a single leve at higher levels for the multi-turn in ones.
"But I don't wanna craft!" Too bad. You can be broke and ride the chocobo everywhere. Its a huge part of the game and this game makes it almost mandatory to participate in, seemingly. The leves are a big reason why.
(stupid 1000 text limit)
This is a different game. Do not be surprised that you have to play it differently. I would feel bad if SE capitulated to the whining when in-game solutions are present. They are trying to create a more involved economy where crafting has actual use all game long, even if the crafted gear isn't raid worthy and Bind on Create like other games have done to incentivize it.
Give us a level 50 levemete and make them give allagan coins for the random rewards instead of gear.
Every mob from a dungeon has a chance of dropping Allagans Bronze or Silver? That way more people will do Raids since FATEs dont really give a good amount of Gil.
That or have more Leves give more Allagans.

Lol at thinking gathering and crafting will actually make you much money. Most gathered items are now worthless the crafted items are pretty worthless as well. You will constantly have to spend Gil repairing your gear at an NPC or by buying dark matter. Then there's the crystals involved and the mats so that's a constant amount of gathering which in turn means more gear needs repairing. Even crafting yourself new gear when an item goes to 0% isn't worth doing as this will just add to the expense. Most time doing dungeon runs I will just wear the bare minimum in the low end dungeons and use the gear drops from there and NPC it afterwards so I don't lose out on money.
One solution to making money I guess would be to spam low level dungeons with minimal gear and sell whatever drops can get and allagan pieces or run high end dungeons save up the tomestones and buy the crafting items that are needed for two star crafts as these go for 80k+. Another thing I am trying out is crafting militia gear then spirit bonding it just for the tier 4 material as this sells for a fairly good amount of Gil.

The biggest, and most amusing irony of this thread is that the players who are struggling to make money keep suggesting that the players with wads of cash don't understand economics.
They then give this crap argument about how the Market Board is steadily sucking the economy dry 10% at a time. Yes, this is a money sink, but there are plenty of money springs.
Weird how I can make money, gathering, then crafting, then completing leve quests which is only adding money to the economy.
Then I see people talking about deflation, but I'm selling stuff and see no evidence of that. Sure prices go up and down due to supply and demand, but as a gatherer primarily I can always find something I can sell 200 gil per unit, I go pick it from the ground and make my cash... simples.
