Crafting and Gathering. (My solution.)

Crafting and Gathering. (My solution.)
Yeah, I have friends on Phoenix. They're rolling in cash selling materia, crafting gear, vampire plants, pre-relic weapons and all sorts of rare crafting mats. They make 80-100k per sell on stuff. This is because your server is significantly behind when it comes to guilds, average player level and state of the economy.
"I play on a server that is quite far behind in terms of economy and character levels" isn't a valid basis for making a point.
Aside from the market, crafting is in fact sustainable from nothing more than the triple-turn-in leves, and this has precisely nothing to do with which server you are on, or how much money is in the economy. You don't have to sell anything on the market to make more than enough money from crafting to pay for your raiding. If you don't want to do this, that's when you have to turn to the market to sell the crafting drops that you get from killing mobs.Yeah, I have friends on Phoenix. Step 1.) Level up a Carpenter
Step 2.) Level up a Botanist
Step 3.) Go to Gridania, harvest 405 Wind Shards
Step 4.) Go to Camp Tranquil, harvest 405 Oak Logs
Step 5.) Turn the shards and logs into 135 HQ Oak Lumber
Step 6.) Go to Gridania, do the oak lumber leveequest 9 times
Step 7.) Generate over 40k gil net income(including after teleportation fees) for 60-90 minutes of your time; none of it taken from other players
Step 8.) Repeat steps 3 to 7 everyday

Lmao I just logged in to say what an excellent example of someone who doesn't read a thread but still wants to be heard.
Literally nobody in the world cares if you've made some nice profits off of crafting/gathering. In fact, if you HAVEN'T made a fair chunk of gil with a 50 craft or 50 gathering class your IQ is most likely under room temp.
Go ahead and tell your mom about how you responded to a thread about large scale gil creation trying to subtly brag about how much money you've made scamming new crafters out of their main quest gil. Let me know how that goes.

Thanks man going to try this outStep 1.) Level up a Carpenter

The problem isn't that there aren't ways to make gil. The problem is that the dungeon-centric playerbase doesn't want to do them. "You want me to do something that doesn't involve fighting stuff? What are you smoking!?"

Um... If you are finding there are more gil sinks than gil-generating mechanisms, maybe you need to lay off of some of the gil sinks?Have to disagree. My experience has been that there are disproportionately more gil sinks than gil-generating mechanisms in the game. It would create a much better balance if there were something a little more supplemental thrown in. Or maybe a bunch of little somethings.
I haven't found any yet until level 50 when you /need/ to buy a relic weapon and a couple r3 materia. Beyond that, you literally have nothing that you need to buy with gil.
Repairs? Ok... If you do any dungeons and full clear them(especially at level 50) you get at LEAST 1400g per run with allagan bronze coins.

pretty much this
perhaps dungeon based mmos are the right choice for them
Since the repair costs were adjusted and more allagan pieces dropping in dungeons, I see no issues with the balance of the economy anymore (if it even was any imbalance before).
What people keep neglecting are the validity of actually leveling up a DoH class. It's not about selling things on the market, that will only provide personal wealth (which is the only thing most people care about, I doubt there's many people that actually care about the server economy, they just want an easier time to get money). No, what I'm talking about is levequests and how great they can be at high level.
There are various tradeleves that asks for 3 of a certain item, the special thing about these leves is that you can turn in 3 items 2 more times! So for one allowance only, you can complete the same leve 3 times (requiring 9 of asked item) and if you HQ all 9 items you will get a tremendous amount of gil. Now do this 5 times more every day (you get 6 allowance per day) and you will quickly notice that you will never be able to spend that much gil in one day on teleports and repairs.
