I'm looking into macro setups... going to make a video when I find MY sweet spot, but since progessing the story, I have changed my crossbar setup a bit to accommodate class vs jobs and to accomodate my chocobo summon. Will keep you guys updated.Another idea to help people using the controller is to macro certain abilities together, such as buffs. That way you can have multiple abilities that only take up one slot on the cross hot bar. I'm sure lots of people already know to do it, but there may be some that don't.

Thanks! This was very useful. I didn't bother looking at the targeting options all this time, and just dealt with it.
thanks. we hope to keep you entertained and informed. lol
LOL! you'd be surprised how many people haven't touched the targeting system. For example the last instance i ran, there was a ps3 healer having trouble keeping up. Instead of trashing and being impatient with her like the some people, I helped her. Linked her to the video for a quick reference then off we went. Incredible improvement.

Great tutorial!
I would just like to add that even using this setup I've had an issue with the game still targeting NPC's and PC companions when changing targets using the d pad. I've since learned that you can cycle only enemy targets by holding L2 or R2 and tapping L1 or R1. It has greatly improved my targeting speed.
Hmm... I shall look into this... I don't have to many NPC or companion targets... but then again maybe I don't pay too close enough attention. I'm currently in the process of trying to make a "HOW TO PLAY AS A TEAM" series that is informing players of their class' role in a LIGHT PARTY instance run.Great tutorial!

I've been playing with too many impatient DPS players that rush mobs before the tank on a run. Not to mention healers that don't understand that overhealing pulls aggro. LOL! (at least from what I'm seeing, I could be wrong about the over healing)
New targeting tests coming soon...

Cool.
NPC's aren't really that big of a problem in dungeons I guess. The only one I can think of that had an NPC in the fights was Brayflox. There are quite a few fates though that have multiple NPC's so using this method helps more in those situations.
Good Job! Very helpful. Keep up the good work.

I think you used the "X" button as you targeted always the NPCs and Pets despite the "only enemy" target filter.Great tutorial!

The "X" button seems to have it own target filter. It target the next person or thing that is in line of sight of the character and still on the screen, with NPC, pets and objects at high priority. Helpfully to target the aetheryte in a city in a mass of people with one-click, but can be a hindrance in a battle.

quite the possibility. I did look in to the bumper buttons used as targeting switches... It works... pretty fluidly also... It has since helped me mark targets faster and switch in super crazy situations. I still use left and right dpad, but when a quick switch is needed with an action shortly following... I have started using bumpers for that..I think you used the "X" button as you targeted always the NPCs and Pets despite the "only enemy" target filter.
