Easier Crossbar & Targeting VIDEO Tutorial

I partially watched it. But figured it out. So yeah been running with this for a day or two now. Really loving it. Just need to get used to first drawing weapon and only then targeting else I lockon with no battle skills in my crossbar.

This thread should definitively be made sticky. It really helped a lot of people. Keeping it on top and not swimming between other threads would benefit all newbies.

Either that or maybe a new thread could be made for all game experience optimization guides that could be made sticky.

everything's perfect, with a bit of issue though
it seems that every time i log in, the default cross hotbar would be the battle stance one
or am i doing it wrong?

be sure to not that the sequence of the cross bar takes priority... hence 1 will show before 2 and 4 will show before 5... so just make sure your battle & adventuring ones are set in sequence. You could have a bug though... when ever I login, my character isn't in battle stance... but then again... I always log out at an inn...

thanks for this, i've taken on your idea for the different quick switch bars for drawn and sheathed and added it to my own setup.

did you also know that when holding a trigger, the l1/lb and r1/rb shoulder buttons become quick target buttons...

I will definitely check out the bumper targeting... will note it in the video too...

glad your loving your setup... I love mine... I did set this up as a quick tutorial so people can adapt it their way vs. having a long video about MY setup...

Hope it keeps helping... I try to keep interaction between my viewer so I try to respond to all comments on the videos and in this thread... at least when I respond it bumps it back to the top.

Just wanted to say that your videos are great! That first video REALLY helped me out! The whole having only certain bars pop up depending on your stance is brilliant. Granted, I know it's part of the game.. but they really should talk about that more in the official info because it's awesome. Also, thanks for showing how to scale the UI items. I knew it could be done, but I just couldn't figure out HOW. Thanks for showing me everything I could do to improve my gameplay!!

I would just like to add that even using this setup I've had an issue with the game still targeting NPC's and PC companions when changing targets using the d pad. I've since learned that you can cycle only enemy targets by holding L2 or R2 and tapping L1 or R1. It has greatly improved my targeting speed.

I think you used the "X" button as you targeted always the NPCs and Pets despite the "only enemy" target filter.
The "X" button seems to have it own target filter. It target the next person or thing that is in line of sight of the character and still on the screen, with NPC, pets and objects at high priority. Helpfully to target the aetheryte in a city in a mass of people with one-click, but can be a hindrance in a battle.

quite the possibility. I did look in to the bumper buttons used as targeting switches... It works... pretty fluidly also... It has since helped me mark targets faster and switch in super crazy situations. I still use left and right dpad, but when a quick switch is needed with an action shortly following... I have started using bumpers for that..
