Is this normal

Hi All
Im quite new to the whole PC gaming malarkey and have only just played a couple of games since building my rig.
The problem is the other 2/3 games I play all seem fine but this does seem to stutter quite a bit when playing.
My FPS according to fraps is always 60-70 except towns where it goes to 55-60 but the game stutters all the time, not freezing just stuttering if you know what I mean.
My rig I've built is thus but im sure it can handle this as the other games play flawlessly
i5-3570k 3.4ghz - Not Overclocked
16gb ram DDR3 1600
Sapphire Radeon HD7790 OCX 1GB version
Gigabyte Z77-D3H or something like that lol
AMD driver 12.104
Any help would be much appreciated and also would be nice to know if anyone is suffering from this

I'm experiencing the same thing, Take a look at my screenshots in my thread, a simple turn to the right almost halves my FPS and there is no reason for it.

Stuttering isn't the same as measurable changes in FPS...

First off, you should rule out any kind of overheating problems, as they are a common cause for all kinds of poor performance. Get a program such as CPUID Hardware Monitor, and see how high the temperatures of your CPU and GPU climb while gaming.

Also the brand and wattage of your power supply would be useful information, since those are not created equal and can also cause these problems.

ok this helped me out not sure if it will work for you.
got to system
system configuration
display settings
scroll all the way to the bottom
look for frame rate limit
try setting this too 30FPS(refresh rate 1/2) click the little check box
this for me stopped the jerking movement on the screen..
hope this helps

Hi again
My cpu stays around 44 degrees but that's water cooled and the GPU hovers around the 57-60 degree mark so all looks good there.
I did try changing settings as Sarrion suggested but it made no difference at all.
Hopefully a fix is in the pipeworks as I don't appear to be the only one suffering from this.

Oh yes and im running a Corsair 650w Bronze certified PSU ;-)
