Should I get the Logitech G600 Mouse?!

I have the G13 Gamepad for a couple of years and I LOVE IT.
It's perfect for tanking/dps. I can move and use abilities at the same time, it's just made gaming more enjoyable.

Now, I am considering getting the G600 mouse that has 12 buttons on the side for Mouse over macros and healing. My question is, do any of you have experience using both (or similar peripherals Razer Naga, N52, etc). Doesn't it become redundant at some point with so many buttons but not as many skills or macros to use?

How do you balance how to use the G13 gamepad and the multi button mouse in conjunction with each other. What's the most intuitive setup? I don't see myself using the mouse for tanking purposes because the G13 handles very well. However, I can see how the side buttons would be great for healing.

Any suggestions, tips, experiences are appreciated in advance. Specifically, what things can the G600 do better or more conveniently that the G13 can't with a regular mouse.

I'd save my money if I were you. The G13 frees up more buttons thanks to the joystick that you will never need a mouse with more than the standard 5 buttons. While I don't have the G600 I do have the G700, which has 13 buttons and I never find myself using more than 5 buttons, there is just no need for a mouse with mutliple buttons if you have the G13.

Maybe in future expansions with level cap raised and new abilities added into the game should you consider getting a Naga/G600 MMO style mouse.

I bought the G600 when it first came out. I found myself accidentally clicking the ring finger button especially when trying to press the side buttons. The side buttons require a bit of force to press, which may be okay but that ring finger button was a huge issue for me. Not only that, the mouse died on me THE NEXT DAY so I had to return it. I didn't bother getting a replacement even though the one I got was probably a rare defect.

I have a Razer Naga mouse with the 12-button side panel on it, and I can't go back. It's like a dream and totally worth it, I've used it for years. I know the G600 is similar, so I'd say go for it.

No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.

I use a G600 - all the G-keys are assigned to the skill bar. To get to the 2nd row of skills assigned to the F-keys I just need to hit the left ctrl with my pinky and click away on the mouse. Its a pretty sweet setup since I'm playing bard and move around a bit while DPSing to avoid aoes and the like. I think clicking the row of buttons closest to you the G18-G20 keys can feel a little awkward at first, but with more use you get used to it. I also like the fact that it has 3 clicks on the top. So I have Left click - Teamspeak button - right click. I've had a pretty good experience with the mouse so far. The option between mouse profiles is great too. So I can switch between games and already have all the G-keys macro'd to the buttons I want. I'd say give it a try.

The only place where I see the G600 is coming in handy is with convenient use of marking targets. I hve bound Markings 1 - 5 to Shift 1 - 5. With G600, I can mouse over and press the buttons vs. tab targeting and using Shift 1 - 5 each time.

As a warrior, It may also come in handy to mouse over a certain mob among many and use Tomahawk (ranged agro ability). Some of my heals are also bound to Cntrl 1-6, so maybe mouseover + G600 buttons are more effective than Mouse over and pressing Cntrl 1-6. I don't know.... i just don't want to make things so complicated that it defeats teh purpose of getting the mouse,.... to make healing easier...

I could also use the mouse for quick use of Sprint, Limit Break, mounting/dismounting... etc.

Any of you have "both" and how do you balance between the two.

I'm using a razer nostromos keypad with regular mouse. Any suggestions for a mouse so I can set up Macros to use with it?

Same here. I can't imagine gaming without it.

I can't say anything about the gamepad, but I own a G600 and it's one of the best purchases I have ever made. I got one after having gone through two Razer Nagas and can definitely say that the build quality is better.

The G600 also has a third main button for your ring finger, which is the best part of the mouse in my opinion. For GW2, I assigned "roll" to that trigger because I used it so frequently. In Planetside 2, I used it to just my DPI (mouse sensitivity) on the fly depending on the weapon I was using. For WoW and SWTOR, I used it as a toggle for mapping another set of 12 buttons on the side of the mouse.

...so yeah, it's a pretty awesome mouse. Is it overkill if you already have a gamepad? Quite possibly. Basically, it boils down to whether you need more buttons or not. If you do, then this will be a good investment. If not, it might still be a good investment, but probably for a game down the road. I don't use all of its features for every game I play.

If anything... it will be convenient ot mark targets, and mouse over heal.. or use them for sprint, limit break, mount... etc.. instead of binding them to keys that could be used for abilities.
