    PLD Tanking Stats

Just about to get my PLD job unlocked and was wondering how I should be spending my points to build for end game? Right now I have been balancing equally between STR and VIT. Should I instead be just sinking all my points in to VIT in order to be best setup for endgame tanking? Also, how does one go about reseting their stat point allocations (I assume there is a way to do so)?

    Thanks!

    Hi Eint,

I think you cannot go wrong if you're 1:1 Strength:Vitality.

There's an item, Keeper of the Hymn, that is available at your Grand Company, I think it's 10,000 seals. So reallocating after a while may be a time consuming task (approximately 45~50 FATEs).

Also, consider the materia in your accessories. Depending on your server's market, if Strength materia costs less than Vitality materia, grab the Vitality accessories, then meld Strength. Conversely, if Vitality materia costs less, grab the Strength accessories and meld Vitality.

I like the data but why does it not include Dex?

edit: would be nice to know if a little dex would bump you into the next bracket etc.

Take the str tables and increase them even more for dex. It takes a lot of dex to get to the next bracket. Also planning your 30 points around the next bracket is pointless since your gear will change constantly.

Thanks guys! Just as a general question, how have you been spending your points? Have you also been going with a 50/50 (STR/VIT) or more of a 30/70 split?

PLD base hp is really low, i took 0 str 100% vit personally, I like being able to survive RNG if awareness is down (sometimes mobs can get a string of crits and the extra hp means life or death). Threat has never been an issue for me, do not take STR for threat reasons.

I am thinking to go for a tank role, but can't decide wich between war and pld. Imo, from my research, i beleive both can do about the same, and it really depends how confortable you play the job and also, how and where you put your attribute pts.

Having said that, a PLD that go 100% on VIT, regarding the attribute pts, is best possible way to have max VIT. Very interesting... BUT, does that PLD can do enough DMG to keep aggro (enmity) ?

    I would like to know
