World Tranfer Inquiry

Hi!

I'm here to ask if whether it is possible to transfer my current character, who is in the JP region, to the NA region servers. My being in the JP server was mainly due to me being unable to log on the NA servers. Problems and such you guys already know about, yes?

Is it possible for the transfer to take place? No? In the future maybe?

Oh, and I already tried using the search function. All I got were world transfer inquiries for legacy players.

After daring the dangers of unholy evil tomes of doom, I have found the answer! In case someone with the same question comes along, here you go:

"Changing Worlds
An optional World transfer service is scheduled to be added.
To make use of the World transfer service once it's available, please proceed to the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station."

I just got this from the NA site:

This is an optional paid service that allows characters from active service accounts for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn to be transferred to a World of your chooosing.
* Due to fluctuations in World populations, certain Worlds may not be available for transfer.
* World transfer service is scheduled to begin mid-September.

Now after actually reading a lot of material about this service it got me thinking that this service might only get characters transferred to another world of the same region.
I am now worried; I have not been able to log in to the game for the past two days. Something or someone from Square Enix needs to answer me!

I feel like a pig deprived of mud right now.

Characters will probably only be allowed transfer from "high congestion servers" to new "low congestion servers" to help eliminate the problems. You've been getting on, and leveling, so your not really "effected" by the issue here.

I took a few days off from the office for this, though. :O I want to finally be transferred to the NA region servers instead of JP (but only after things get fixed) as I seem to be getting good ping there and that is where I am supposed to be. Technically, I am affected! Can you imagine levelling a character in a place where I can't understand anyone? The problem then would be that they may not transfer people to other regions. Which will ultimately leave me no choice but to create another character as my main. That would make all my levelling and time invested, pointless. Wouldn't you say? D:

When I started with pre-launch, I didnt know jack about this. It kept saying it could not access the NA servers... I did not realize that the server I started on was a Japan server. I am hoping they will let me transfer my toons to a NA server also.

So i take it you totally missed the part where is says JP servers on the top of the one side of the list and NA/EU on the other? More likely than not, server transfers are going to be between worlds within the same region, and not region to region, but maybe you'll get lucky and they will do region to region transfers, who knows.

4. Commence World transfer service.

In addition to our above plans to improve server stability, we will begin service for World transfers. Players who were unable to join their desired World due to character creation restrictions will now be able to move to a World of their choosing.

We realize many players would like to play together with their friends, and preparations for the World transfer service are a top priority. We are also working towards resuming digital sales for those who had planned to purchase the game but were unable to do so.
