Creating Chars on Servers that arent listed

My friend has been trying to make a char on my server for quite sometime. I know others are also waiting for the server to be able to make more chars on this same server. Im just wondering if I have missed it but are they planning on unlocking servers soon so that these people can make a char on my server or is this something that isnt going to change for awhile?

I can only hope so (or all the excitement dies down after the free period expires and most go back to what they were doing before XIV). I have a friend who is on the same server as you and I would like to create and alternate character so I can join them on occasion. Okay, ideally, I would love for them to join my server, but it's been on and off the list for the past three days.

it sucks because he will be one of those people that wont play unless hes on my server and the free time on the account is just wasting away.
