That's is what I was trying to say all along. That's why they don't name it that way, not in the lore nor in the games and other products.
Blue mage doesn't have any meaning to me as a newcomer to the Final Fantasy series, that's why I'm dissappointed when they use it as a name.
Final Fantasy isn't the only series out there, but it is one of the most referenced series just like when someone talks about Sci-Fi they proclaim "Star Trek" or "Star Wars" yet they're clearly not the only Sci-Fi series out there.
Maybe it is one of the most referenced name in the fantasy genre of games, but it isn't an excuse in my eyes to force dull and meaningless names like colored mages down people's throat, whether they are new to the genre or not.

No, They named them Jedi Knights and Jedi Consulars because thats the LORE OF THE FRANCHISE. LOLS BRILLIANT CONCEPT
Now let's be honest a name such as jedi knight or jedi consular even outside of that lore makes more sense than colored mages...
And I think I said this before in the thread but don't bother abusing capslock since my eyes are good enough to read.
