And for your other statement. It shouldn't be a requirement to do an in-depth study to know what a class is like.
Not really because FF isn't an obscure game series and is referenced everywhere, therefore in general people know that white mage tends to be a healer and black mage tends to be a nuker but you generally have to learn more to know more like with anything else in the world, and if someone is going to play an entry to a series especially without playing the games prior to it, you'd assume you'd want to learn about the series you're starting to play, just like you'd assume people to learn terminology and the like if someone were to play Mass Effect for the first time but started with 3 rather than 1.

Is it so difficult to understand that outside of the whole Final Fanatasy world
Nope because outside of the FF world they mean nothing, but we are talking about Final Fantasy XIV, are we not?

Now your just making an assumption. There are a lot more games out their than the FF series, if you like it or not. People don't have to know anything about it beforehand just because it's there and successful.

Look at it this way if you are making a mmorpg you want to be open to the general gaming public not just Final Fantasy series playerbase. And good communication is vital in that part. For example in the SWTOR they didnt name Jedi Knights blue lightsaber jedi or jedi consulars green lightsaber jedi. Since the colour of the lightsaber doesn't add much meaning to the playingstyle you are going to get.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
