I'm not the type that likes to promote things unless I really believe in it. When I used to play WoW there was a certain time where my ISP (Time Warner) didn't get along with Blizzard servers so I had to pay for a monthly service (VPN Tunnel) to basically re-route my connection.

The miraculous thing about it is that it actually lowered my ping from 90ms to 30ms.

I've been having a lot of latency issues in FFXIV:ARR and I have read on forums that a lot of people using RCN and TWC are also having the same lag spikes that I was getting.

I tried a service called battleping (www.battleping.com) and it completely got rid of my connection issues. I don't believe using VPNs are against the game's TOS. It costs $5.45 per month or $14.95 for 3 months. You can try it out for free just to see if it helps.

Hopefully others with the same issue will try this out as it has helped me immensely.

Best of luck in the fields of Eorzea!
