Before adding new classes they should... I don't know... fix the ones in the game now that clearly don't work. And before you ask that naive question of which: its all of them.

I want a gunblade![]()
Word.
We don't need to re-add every job from FFXI people liked to play. We need classes that are distinctive and fun, without too much redundancy, so that all are useful and can be balanced fairly.

I agree that the current jobs need some more work, but at the same time they should not wait too long to implement some new classes.
At the moment there are only two Mage classes, we need more.
Personally I'd love to see Bard implemented. We have no proper buff/support job at the moment and I know I miss playing Bard.
I would also like to see a damage dealing class that uses swords. Real swords and not a sword and shield combo. Great swords or Great Katanas.
I so don't agree with this. Two of the most silly aspects of the FFXI class system were just how many jobs there were, and how BRD was the only tier 1 job. Having jobs buff themselves is significantly easier to balance than adding one god class to buff everyone (and instantly become the most desirable job to have and, for most, the least fun to be pigeonholed onto).I agree that the current jobs need some more work, but at the same time they should not wait too long to implement some new classes.

I'm not, and have never been, a WoW player, but the much smaller number of classes in that game is a good design choice. They're not all basically redundantly filling the same few roles. There's a bit of overlap, but nowhere near as bad as in FFXI.
FFXI had way too many classes that could fill the same roles, and while it's nice for players to have some choice, there are better ways of accomplishing that than just adding a ton of redundant classes.

Believe it or not but some people actually loved playing Bard. And I actually liked the job variety in FFXI since the jobs all felt different. In FFXIV the jobs just all feel the same, it feels boring.
Most MMOs have a support/buffer job and there are players who enjoy playing these classes.
You are of course entitled to your own opinion, but there are people out there who loved all the distinctly different jobs in FFXI and who love playing support classes.
Oh! oh! oooh!
Class: RMT = Real Monkey Trainer!
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
They could add a "Jongleur" class, which historically is a lower class(poverty) entertainer, where as a troubadour was the high class counterpart.
It could be a mix between dancer and bard. I guess for ease of pronunciation they could just call it a juggler.
If i could choose one class it would be Summoner! ^~^
but im not sure how that would fit into the lore right now unfortunately T.T
I want Dark Knight PLS PLS PLS!!!!!
