Can someone explain the FPS on this game

So I've built my own rig, and it's outstanding, FF plays like a dream. Yet I've noticed a very strange behavior regarding performance. I could be looking at a wall and the FPS would fall to 42 ( still playable I know) Then I turn to look at a crowd of people and it would go back up to 80-85 FPS.

Running through the world is frustrating when you see these jumps for no reason. Dungeons/FATES/ cities all great FPS, yet walking through an empty map the FPS will bounce up and down, with very little things on screen.

    Anyone have any idea?

Note: This rig is only 2 days old, no heating problems all cool and running great as I mentioned. And it's not a huge problem I know but I'm OCD when it comes to things like this lol.

Yeah I've noticed weird FPS things as well. The big one I've seen is despite seeing it say 30-45 FPS for me, the game doesn't seem to be completely smooth. Sort of like there's micro freezes between every frame or something. But for that framerate it seems like it should be smoother. Basically it feels like 20-25 FPS vs the 30-45 it displays. So it could just be reading the FPS wrong, who knows.

As you can see my Rig is more than capable, yet in-game having 42 FPS looking at a wall is just crazy.

I'm not referring to the benchmark, I'm referring to the in-game FPS display. The benchmark said I'd be getting 70+ FPS, while I only get 25-35 average. I completely ignore the benchmark now lol But yeah, I don't know why there is such terrible FPS changes in-game.

Yeah I knew what you meant lol I was just throwing that in there for comparison. I understand that FPS drops happen when there are a lot of people but this is just pure randomness lol. Staring at a wall generates less fps than staring at a crowd of players lol. I don't know what else I can do apart from decreasing my settings, which I refuse to do since this machine is more than capable. Maybe Nvidia will release new drivers soon with better optimization for this game? who knows.

    Very irritating haha

I don't think it's drivers, I have AMD and have the same problems. I've tried several different updates too.

    This is what I mean.

On the last pic, you can see that even with more people it stays at 70 FPS, but a simple turn to the right almost halves my FPS? really?

No matter what settings I use it still drops like crazy, I know for sure it's not my rig it's only 2 days old and it plays everything else just fine. I've just been playing another game online with well over 120 fps and it's probably more graphically intensive than this. Not gonna say what incase I get in trouble, but this unstable FPS is really beginning to annoy me.
