It is actually a joke. I'm calling the positions of where i have to be in phase 3 before they happen, pre-moving and still get delay hit by bombs, landslides and wotl even though on my screen im out of the aoe. I guess its even harder for me because even with wtfast or battleping i have 160 latency.
um...also the data center of EU/us is not -local- for any eu or most u.s as it's in CANADA
I don't know what they did, but today in all my duty finder runs for titan today, I didn't get hit by the quicksand even if I just barely made it out. And this is on a JP server from the NA. However, I was playing dragoon instead of scholar this time. I had to move early to avoid them as scholar. I will try as scholar after work today and see if is better for that too. It might just be some lucky server stability.
It comes and goes depending on how many people are doing Titan at the moment. I only have 50ms latency and I run into this on and off. There are some days that I do not get hit by a single thing and there are other days where I get hit by the first Weight and everything after. It can even be on different runs back to back. The main problem is the servers only ping your location 3 times a second, that is an automatic 333ms latency then you add your latency and there are real problems. This is fixable as SWTOR had this same problem and managed to fix it. The game is really unplayable at times because of this issue. This is definitely made better by classes that have instant cast abilities or are constantly casting. This problem is much worse on SCH as you are just casting heals. When I play my bard this problem is almost non existent, on my SCH i have to make sure that I cast something as soon as I get out of any stuff so the server will hopefully be able to update my location and see that I am out of stuff.I don't know what they did, but today in all my duty finder runs for titan today, I didn't get hit by the quicksand even if I just barely made it out. If they can bother to fix something as little as the positioning of mobs in CM to avoid speed running from happening anymore, they can fix an unfair game changer such as this. I see no reason why it hasn't been yet.
Hate to burst everyone's bubble but...
Coming from JP to NA server, the latency has been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced to the point where I don't need to pay attention in the fight at all and can still dodge plumes by simple reaction timing(very slow, like drunk reactions). On the JP server it was bad and basically required you to pre move which I still do out of habit that I'm trying to break.
For you guys on the EU database, I'd keep bugging for an actual EU data base. It's a really big deal and if they plan on releasing more fights like this it's only going to get worse for you.
I've been watching skill timers, and noticed the issue I've been experiencing, reflects to the issue that seems to bother a lot of casters. Skills go off before the skill fully charges, even if you attempt to cancel it at a point that is clearly before the end of a charge. So if your latency is fine like mine, but still see the issue of enemies like Titan striking earlier than it shows on his charge, this would be my guess as to why.
