    The lag in this fight plays a big role. If you do this fight during prime time on a weekend you won't have much luck. Some times on a weekend I have to adjust /wait on my crafting macros from 2.5 to 3.5 because there is a full second of lag and my macros fail... You can't beat Titan with 1 sec lag.

    SEA/Oceanic players have always played similar encounters at 100-200+ ping, it is possible to avoid all the AOE but the reaction margin is very short (0.1-0.5 seconds), predicting when the AOE is coming and popping/managing Sprint cooldowns help. Failing that, having more max HP helps, can take a hit and survive.

    This issue happens because the lag is built into the game. Even if you live in Canada (ahem), you'll still get the lag. It's because someone had the wonderful idea to make all player positioning and AoE information be handled serverside instead of clientside. In most games, you get the ping that the AoE is coming, you dodge the attack, and it then pings that you dodged the attack. In FFXIV, information has to constantly sent back and forth concerning player location, since it sends your location information to the server instead, which then determines whether you dodged or not. This means you're looking at a delay of 0.3-1 seconds for everything you do.

    And if what you're trying to do happens to be dodging a OHKO AoE at that point in time, tough luck. This is what happens when you play a game that was literally built to lag.

    They really need to find a fix for this issue, titan hard mode is already depressing. I cant imagine what bahamut dungeon is like with this delay. Didn't SE acknowledged this bug and said they have fixed it? -_-

    Doubt they can fix this other than simply change titan attack to be slower.
    At this point of the game, they will not go back to the core about how server handle positioning again.

    But titan is currently one of the last content, only previous to coil of bahamut... so I don't think they will nerf him to be slower until next patch when they add more content.

    Regardless, I'm all about hard modes and have done them for 7-8 years of other mmo's. Hard modes are supposed to be a optional thing for raid guilds/companies not a requirement to get attuned to a 8 man raid... My company is a hardmode type company, but I can see where this is going to cause them to lose customers because not everyone has the time and skill to do hard modes just to get in and see normal raid content. Leave hard modes for hard mode guilds, not the average Joe Blow company. A attunement for a 8 man raid is just beyond silly to me anyways, it's like winning the lottery and winning only 5 dollars lol.

    While the animation or "lag" of the quicksand seem mistimed from when they hit you, they're definitely consistent. As long as you move right as they spawn you'll never get hit.

    hope you they fix it for good really, i met many players having this issue and as always since v1.0 you fight the game lag and latency and not the mobs lol
