Shadows Uncast (Twin Adder)

Apologies if this was asked before but how do you unlock the Shadows Uncast Quest for Twin Adder? I'm well above the required level and I've beaten Garuda in the main story (if that matters) and it's just telling me that the "Quest is unavailable at this time".

you also have to be I think the second sgt level before you can start that quest

You have to Beat! the story and be max promotion (til the person is saying... hey go help this guy)

I read that Shadows Uncast unblocks Dzamael Darkhold, which I have already done, but Shadows Uncast keep appearing as a red globe, without the needed requirements

There are two ways to get into Darkhold. One is a quest in Coerthas. The other is the Twin Adder quest. I believe that at Serpent Sergeant First Class you will be unable to rank up any further until you finish the quest to go into Darkhold. If it's still red for you that means you need to rank up further with the Twin Adders.

If you reach the point where when you try to rank up they tell you that you need to speak to the NPC who starts the Shadows quest, you know you're there.

Ok I have already finished this quest. I am Chief Serpent Sergeant. When I go to apply for promotion it tells me I have to complete a trial and achieve rank 2 in the hunting log both of which I have already done. The serpent commander has no other quests. What am I missing?

The only way I was able to advance was to gain access to AK (Amdapor Keep) once I got access to this dungeon only then was I able to talk with the NPC for their "Trial" quest (I'm with Maelstrom, it matter should work for you too regardless of faction.) I went off to the dungeon, completed it- went back to turn in and booyah- Advanced in Rank.
As a side note, It is unlocked after completing all of the main story quests, it's just not part of the main story itself. Hope that helps. I kept track of everything to figure it out, and that's how it worked for me. Lemme know if it works. =)

I'd been stuck at Chief Serpent Sgt for a while. I figured I needed to beat the story to unlock the next quest to continue advancing, which I still haven't gotten around to doing. Yesterday the quest wasn't available. Today, suddenly, it is. The only things I did were FATEs on WHM and ACN to get to 40 & 25, respectively, and did the quests for those levels; ran Haukke with FC; and did a bunch of Leves on MNR and BTN. Somewhere in there I did something to activate the quest. And I've no idea what.

Either that or they changed the pre-reqs with the update.
