Is there any justification for having pink icon "Aetherial" items when they don't appear to be rarer or better than green icon "uncommon" items? Items of both rarity can be obtained in dungeon chests just the same.
What sets them apart?

Green is better.
Aetherial items load random stats, so two items bearing the same name can be of different quality and usefulness. The stats for green items are static, meaning everytime a green item drops of a specific type it will always have the same stats.
And you can dye pink.
They really should do something about that. Most of the Uncommon(Green) items are stock models with default colors so why make them undyeable?
Right now its rather weird and confusing. Uncommon items of the same dungeon tend to vary in being dyeable/undyeable, sellable/unsellable on trade market, and convertable/unconvertable to materia. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it.
