This is a decent guide for someone new. But there are always exceptions to the rules and the 'do not do this' comments that you made. In the end, no guide will completely and accurately describe how to heal every encounter. Healing is always going to be dependent on the difficulty of the content, quality and experience level of all players in the group, and gear level of yourself and the tank.
