Lackluster boat ride

I know there are much more important things to be fixed/changed, but does anyone else feel the boat to and from Limsa Lominsa is Extremely dull? If you really watch it, it doesn't even look at the slightest that its moving while you ride it.

As soon as I got on the boat, I immediately went on YouTube to watch some of the Selbina boat rides, which looked MUCH better than the one we got. (Keep in mind that was created over 8 years ago, from the same company.) It really surprises me how we can go from that.. to the one we have now.

Not a huge deal at the moment, but I just wanted to get your thoughts on it. Thanks!

I think the previous team had more things to add to it, but change's in the company halted some of the projects.
There might still be hope for it, it's just one of those small things that's not the priority atm. (atleast thats my opinion)

Yeah I agree the boat ride is pretty boring and your right the water does make it look like you are not even moving. As for excitement I remember some crazy boat trips in FFXI, you never knew if someone would fish up a Sea Horror or Pirates would attack and destroy everyone unless there was a high level on board to deal with these things. You always knew you should just stay below deck for safety but you just couldn't help but think, I'll just go have a look and see what's up there ^^

Yes please add a sea horror and skeleton pirates to kill me wile I'm afk in the shower while riding the boat!
Actually I agree that it was a little plain but I always just took a break while riding the boat antways.

Also make the boat rides needed to travel to places. Don't bother wasting months to design airships if nobody uses them for transport.

But if thats the case you just go be able to go to the lower decks and you should avoid these problems.

Agreed with the OP.

FFXI had very memorable boat rides. The seagulls, the dolphins, the pirates, the sea horror. Every boat ride was different.

Here.. ...every single ride is the same, save for one factor, which is weather.

I would just like to point out that staying below decks did not guarantee you safety on the FFXI boat ride, as the Sea Horror could in fact be pulled down into the lower cabin, where it would wreak havoc on all the foolish lowbies who thought they would be safe below decks.

I have personally seen this happen several times. :X

Just want to point out that you were not actually moving in XI either. Would be nice to have some 'cuda attacks though.
